September 2025: Subaru Loves Learning in Acton
Once again, it was our privilege to adopt six classrooms at C.A. Farley Elementary School in Hudson, MA. Each adopted class receives a $500 donation, giving teachers the freedom to upgrade their classrooms in ways that best support their students.
In the month leading up to our Subaru Loves Learning Event, McGovern Subaru of Acton also collects school supplies for C.A. Farley Elementary School. While many generous customers contribute, the majority of donations come from our dedicated employees, showing their belief, like ours, that every child deserves the chance to start the school year prepared for success. It's easy to assume that every student begins the year with basics like crayons, pencils, notebooks, and folders, but sadly, that's not always the case. That's why we are proud to step in with unconditional support, helping to bridge that gap for local students and their teachers.
Over the years, the impact of these efforts has been deeply felt. We at McGovern Subaru of Acton are honored to continue our partnership with C.A. Farley Elementary. We can't wait to see how these donations help inspire learning and success for years to come.
August 2025: Breaking Barriers, Building Futures
At McGovern, we believe in shattering outdated stereotypes and opening doors to opportunity. While the automotive world has long been seen as a "boys-only" club, we're proud to say: that simply isn't true.
Each year, McGovern Automotive hosts Girls in Trades at Toyota of Nashua in Nashua, NH. This is a powerful initiative that invites young women to explore careers in automotive and beyond. With the fantastic support of Girls Inc., who buses in girls from their Nashua Center, the event is designed to inspire, educate, and empower.
We are already thinking of next year, and we are thinking BIGGER!We want everyone - our customers, family, friends, neighbors, and even their neighbors - to know about this initiative. It's imperative that women of all ages understand the wide range of careers available to them. Some paths even come with paid training opportunities or grants through local dealerships!
Girls Inc.'s mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. That spirit was on full display. The girls got hands-on experience at female-led stations, where they learned to:
- Replace wiper blades
- Change a flat tire
- Replace a light bulb
- Understand essential car owner information
These life skills aren't just practical they're empowering, giving young women confidence, knowledge, and independence. And it didn't stop there! Local police officers (including some incredible policewomen ) gave the girls a full tour of a police vehicle and talked about careers in law enforcement-another field where strong, smart, bold women are making a huge impact.
To top off the day, the fantastic team at the Toyota of Nashua café grilled up delicious burgers and hot dogs, with fruit plates and ice cream to cool things off. The weather? Absolutely perfect. It was an honor to help spark curiosity and possibility for the next generation. At McGovern Auto Group, we're not just selling cars; we're building dreams and supporting the future.
July 2025: Dylan and Pete's Ice Cream Truck
Nothing beats the heat like ice cream!
At McGovern Subaru of Acton, we love finding reasons to celebrate our team, especially on these hot summer days! This week, we had the amazing Dylan and Pete's Ice Cream Truck stop by, and as always, they did not disappoint. With so many delicious options to choose from, our employees were all smiles as they enjoyed a well-deserved cool treat. When you're working hard and moving in and out of the sun all day, something as simple as ice cream can make a big difference. We're so grateful to Dylan and Pete's for helping us show a little appreciation in the sweetest way possible. Huge thank you to their team. We highly recommend them and look forward to having them back again!
June 2025: Subaru Loves To Care
Every June, Subaru partners with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to deliver warmth, love, and encouragement to those courageously battling cancer. Through this initiative, Subaru retailers nationwide donate comforting blankets and handwritten messages of hope to patients undergoing treatment.
This year, McGovern Subaru of Acton had the privilege of supporting our local community by partnering with Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA. We delivered a bundle of incredibly soft blankets and heartfelt messages to the dedicated team at the Mass General Cancer Center at Emerson Hospital, where patients receive expert, compassionate care close to home. Emerson's team treats a wide range of cancers and offers full-spectrum support, from advanced medical treatment to survivorship programs and rehabilitation.
We are honored to play even a small part in helping provide comfort and encouragement to those walking this difficult journey.

May 2025: Acton Food Pantry
It Takes a Village
How often do we stop and think about where our next meal will come from? For many of us, the answer is easy. But for some in our community, it's not. That uncertainty is a daily reality. Thankfully, there are places like the Acton Food Pantry, a beacon of hope that has been serving the Acton community and its surrounding towns since 1984. With just a few staff members and a whole lot of heart from dedicated volunteers and generous local grocers, this pantry makes sure that no one in our community has to face hunger alone.
At McGovern Subaru of Acton, we believe it's our responsibility to help however we can, not just during the holidays, but all year long, because hunger doesn't follow a season. If you've ever wondered how to make a real difference, this is it. Donate food. Volunteer your time. Spread the word. Every small act of kindness adds up to something so much greater. They say "it takes a village," and it's true. When we show up for one another and give what we can, we remind people that they matter and that someone does care. Together, we can keep that promise alive.
April 2025: Patrick Coyne
Meet Patrick Coyne - A Story of Strength, Support, and the McGovern Family at McGovern Subaru of Acton, we believe our people are more than just employees; their family. And when family goes through hard times, we step up.
Patrick Coyne, one of our extraordinary technicians, has been a part of our team for over 3.5 years. In January, he was recognized as Employee of the Quarter-but life had other plans before he could enjoy that honor.
In late December 2024, Pat began experiencing chest and arm pain. After several doctor visits and a misdiagnosis, it was discovered in early January that he had a severe blockage in his main artery. Emergency surgery saved his life. But that was only the beginning.
While recovering at home on February 28th, Pat, his wife Meagan, and their 9-year-old son were awakened by the smell of smoke. A fire had started in their home. Thanks to Pat's quick thinking and the fast response of local fire crews, everyone got out safely. Though they lost cherished belongings, including furniture Pat had built by hand, they never lost hope. That's when our team stepped in. When our then-General Manager, Troy Ward, asked what Pat needed, he humbly replied, "Nothing, we're okay." But that's not how we do things here. Pat was out of work for over five months, healing from both the medical emergency and the fire. But he remained grateful, saying, "You realize what really matters-your family, your health, your life."
Troy reached out to our owner, Matt McGovern, who immediately stepped in with a $10,000 donation to help cover any expenses not covered by insurance. Because that's what family does. Today, we're thrilled to have Pat back with us. His strength, humility, and heart inspire us every day.
This is what McGovern Subaru of Acton is all about-taking care of our own.
Check presented by our current GM, Nidal Murashah. Also present were Service Manager Eric Friend and Parts Manager Dave Wallace.March 2025: Arbor Day Foundation
At Subaru, and those of us here at McGovern Subaru of Acton believe that the world we leave behind reflects who we are. Because of that, we are dedicated to protecting and preserving our planet for future generations. As part of Subaru Loves the Earth this year, we teamed up with the Arbor Day Foundation to keep our communities green! Trees are vital-they provide oxygen, clean our air and water, cool our neighborhoods, and even improve our health. However, we lose 36 million trees annually due to age, disease, and extreme weather. That's why we took action! With the help of the Arbor Day Foundation, we proudly gave away 100 free trees to residents of Acton, MA, and surrounding towns. Seeing the smiles on our customers' faces was a true reminder of how much we all care about the Earth.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in making a difference-one tree at a time!

February 2025: Boys & Girls Club
McGovern Auto Group congratulates Subaru of Acton for being nationally recognized by Subaru of America, Inc. for their dedication to the community, and the Subaru Love Promise.
Life can change in an instant, and our hearts go out to the Worthington family during this incredibly difficult time. This past October, Hayden and Grayson tragically lost their father in a motorcycle accident. Both children have been active members of the Boys & Girls Club for years, participating in programs, sports, and special events that have shaped their childhood. Their mother, Kristal, is now navigating life as a single parent while working full-time in Maynard. With no immediate family nearby, she leans on the Club for support and childcare, ensuring her children stay engaged in a positive environment.
When we at McGovern Subaru of Acton heard their story, we knew we had to step in. We are honored to cover the cost of Hayden and Grayson's Boys & Girls Club summer program, helping to ease even a small part of Kristal's burden. At McGovern Subaru, we believe in the power of community and standing by our neighbors when they need us most. While nothing can replace the loss of a loving husband and father, we can come together to show this family they are not alone.
If you'd like to support the Worthington family, please reach out to the Boys & Girls Club to learn how you can help. Let's lift each other up-because community means everything.

January 2025: Operation Warm
At McGovern Subaru of Acton, being part of our community means more than selling cars-it's about making a difference.  With the incredible help of Operation Warm, our sales team and staff had the heartwarming opportunity to assist over 100 children and families at Acton-Boxborough United Way by helping them try on brand-new shoes and socks.  For families whose kids' sizes we didn't have, we went the extra mile by taking their names, shoe sizes, and favorite colors to purchase and mail them the perfect pair because every child deserves to confidently step into their next adventure!  The evening was filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful connections. From snacks, juice boxes, and face painting to delicious pizza from our local Market Basket, it was a memorable experience for everyone.  The joy on the kids' faces as they found shoes in their favorite colors-it's a feeling that words can't fully capture. We're already looking forward to next year's event!

December 2024: Toys for Tots Drop-Off
Toys for Tots Drop-Off Day was a success! Despite the rain trying to dampen our spirits, we pushed through, and even MR. MooMoo Subaru arrived without a hitch. Each year, McGovern Subaru of Acton takes pride in partnering with our local Town of Acton, Mass. Police and Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to brighten the holidays for families in need within our community. In 2023, the outpouring of support and generosity was truly remarkable. We're thrilled to say that 2024 was an even greater success. As a dedicated automotive dealership in Acton, McGovern Subaru is committed to ensuring that no family in our area goes without during this special season. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all our employees, customers, and friends who united to create a joyful and warm holiday experience for everyone!.

August 2024: Subaru Loves Learning
For the past month, McGovern Subaru of Acton has been collecting school supplies for CA Farley Elementary School in Hudson, MA. While some donations have come from our generous customers, the majority have been contributed by our dedicated employees. Our team believes, as we do, that every child deserves the opportunity to start the school year with the supplies they need to succeed.
We do this because we believe in the power of unconditional support. Even though these children are not our own, we want to see them set up for success. It's hard to imagine that in a community where financial stability often seems the norm, there are still children starting the school year without basic necessities like crayons, pencils, notebooks, or folders. Sadly, this is a reality many students face.
To help address this, McGovern Subaru of Acton has proudly adopted classes at CA Farley Elementary. The impact of our support over the years has been deeply felt. During our recent supply drop-off, Principal Rachel Scanlon and her team shared a heartfelt slideshow showcasing how previous donations were used. One highlight was the creation of an entire outdoor STEM area, allowing students to experience science hands-on.
The outdoor STEM space includes magnetic square building blocks and other resources that encourage children to think creatively and explore learning outside the traditional classroom setting. It's inspiring to see teachers embrace different learning styles and create environments where all students can thrive.
At McGovern Subaru of Acton, we are proud to continue supporting CA Farley Elementary. We look forward to seeing how these donations contribute to the student's success for years to come.

May 2024: Subaru Loves To Care
At McGovern Subaru of Acton, we consider it a great privilege to donate blankets to the Mass General Cancer Ward. The Mass General Cancer Center, part of Mass General Brigham, is a cornerstone of one of the world's premier academic medical centers and is consistently ranked as one of the top cancer centers in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Their mission is to enhance knowledge and quickly turn discoveries into exceptional, individualized cancer care for patients. The center's dedication to improving patient care and research has garnered recognition as a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center, a prestigious designation awarded to only 53 centers. Additionally, the Mass General Cancer Center is among the 33 cancer centers that form the National Comprehensive Cancer Network®, a coalition of leading institutions committed to patient care, research, and education. Alongside the blankets, we also delivered cards brimming with encouraging words, contributed not only by our team at McGovern but also by our valued customers.
The annual Subaru Loves to Care event is more than just an occasion; it's a commitment to bringing joy to those enduring some of life's toughest battles. It's an honor to partner with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, whose mission aligns with our own-to cure cancer and other blood-related diseases and to provide financial assistance to those overwhelmed by the costs. During our blanket delivery, we had the privilege of meeting Maria Leo, a Lymphoma survivor since 2011, who returned to the hospital after breaking her leg. We wish her a swift recovery. Alongside Maria and the Mass Gen staff, we were joined by Mr. MooMoo Subaru, who was eager to participate in the blanket delivery. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone at Mass Gen for their assistance with the delivery and for distributing the blankets to patients. Our deepest desire is to offer comfort to those facing the most difficult chapters of their lives.

May 2024: Chopped
At McGovern Subaru of Acton, we strive to support our community in various ways. Our latest contribution was supporting Chopped for Charity 2024, an event hosted by Open Table, a local food charity in Acton, Massachusetts.
Chopped for Charity is a culinary competition where three chefs battle it out to showcase their culinary skills. The dishes prepared by each chef are then tasted and judged. This year's contenders were Jonathan Gilman, Viviana Duque, and Jason Jernigan. Chef Jonathan Gilman triumphed with his Colorful Cod Fish Tacos accompanied by Rhubarb Pico de Gallo, which won over the judges.
The purpose of this event is to raise funds and awareness about the daily struggle against hunger in Acton and the surrounding communities. We are proud to announce that, with the support of McGovern Subaru of Acton, along with other businesses and individuals purchasing tickets and additional donations, the event raised a total of $180,000.00. These funds will significantly contribute to combating hunger in the area. Open Table is a remarkable food bank serving the Acton community. Their mission is to eradicate local hunger by providing nutritious food with respect for the dignity and diversity of those they serve. They offer a broad selection of healthy and culturally suitable food options through their pantry and meal services, supported by a dedicated and diverse team of staff and volunteers. Open Table upholds the belief that no one should go hungry, acknowledging that economic, racial, and gender disparities are key factors in food insecurity. They are committed to welcoming those in need with compassion and respect. https://www.opentable.org/.

The participating restaurants were Comeketo, Not Your Average Joe's, Ovenbird Cafe, Third Space Kitchen, True West, Twin Seafood Concord, and the Westford Regency. January 2024: Operation Warm
Giving back to our community is just what we do. It's who we are. It's how we want to do business. At McGovern Subaru of Acton we want to be known for being more than just a car dealership. With the help of Operation Warm our sales team and supporting staff had the wonderful opportunity to spend some time helping over a hundred kids and families to try on new shoes and socks at Acton-Boxborough United Way. It was a wonderful time of giving back to our community. Our staff had a great time interacting with the kids and their families. We had snacks, juice boxes and face painting for the kids, we also had some very yummy pizza from Maynard Village Pizza. It was a beautiful all-around evening. Seeing the looks on these kids' faces as we helped them try on new shoes in their favorite colors was beyond any experience we've ever had; we can't wait to do it again next year. Operation Warm
