❤️ Giving Back to Our Community ❤️ One of the most meaningful moments of our Grand Opening was the opportunity to give back. We were incredibly proud to present a $20,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley through Subaru's Share the Love event, with Subaru of New England contributing an additional $5,000, bringing the total to $25,000! The Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley is the number one nonprofit organization we support each year during Share the Love. We believe it is our responsibility to invest in our community and support the leaders of tomorrow. These kids are our future, and we are committed to helping them succeed in every way possible. Thank you to Subaru of New England, our customers, and our community for helping us make a meaningful impact—together.

Our Shining Star - Ashley L

At McGovern Subaru of Acton, a shining star isn't measured only by accuracy, productivity, or technical skill—though Amy Holsombach excels in all of those. A true shining star is someone whose compassion radiates outward, quietly uplifting everyone within reach. Amy is that person. By day, Amy serves as the steady heartbeat of the store, working as both title clerk and office manager. Every registration, every title, and every detail that might otherwise become stressful for a customer passes through her hands and is handled with calm precision. She supports sales consultants, managers, and customers alike, ensuring complex processes feel effortless. Her work is reliable, thorough, and unassuming, reflecting the way she approaches life beyond the office. Amy's light does not fade when the workday ends. About a year ago, she noticed a man named Ben walking past her home each day with his small dog, Nymeria, a ten‑year‑old Chihuahua. They were headed to the nearby park, where Ben relied on public facilities and outlets to meet basic needs. Amy's home sits on a corner lot next to that park, a lively place filled with family, music, laughter, and neighbors passing by. Though many people walk that road, something about Ben stayed with her. One afternoon, Amy invited Ben to join her family for a meal fresh off the grill. He accepted, grateful and unguarded. That simple invitation became routine. Gradually, Ben became part of their outdoor gatherings—no assumptions, no judgment, just shared humanity. Nymeria sealed the bond, joyfully racing ahead whenever she spotted Amy's family, Ben's laughter following close behind. As summer gave way to winter, Amy understood the danger Ben and Nymeria faced. In New England, winter is not merely uncomfortable for someone without shelter—it can be life‑threatening. Amy knew she could not offer permanent housing, but she also knew she could not do nothing. Together with her family, she purchased a tent outfitted with a stove jack and small wood stove. When the stove required shorter logs, friends stepped in to help cut wood to size. Warmth became possible. When storms grew severe, Amy and her family worked with friends to secure hotel rooms for Ben and Nymeria. It was not a solution, but it was a lifeline. Food could be managed through pantries and shared meals, but housing remained the greatest challenge. With limited local outreach resources, Ben's situation often went unseen. One winter storm changed that. Faced with nearly twenty inches of snow, Amy asked her community for help through a local Facebook group. She spoke honestly, acknowledging the sensitivity of the situation and her need for support. The response was overwhelming. Neighbors donated, meals and supplies were offered, and together the community secured two weeks of hotel lodging for Ben and Nymeria. Compassion rippled outward, strengthening not only one life, but many. Amy does not share Ben's past, knowing not every story is hers to tell. What she does share is that Ben is kind, intelligent, thoughtful, and deeply devoted to his dog. Amy does not see herself as a savior. She simply believes that dignity, safety, and care are the foundation from which people can rebuild. That belief is what makes Amy Holsombach our shining star—not because of what she does when no one is watching, but because she acts the same way even when everyone is.

Subaru Loves to Help - Operation Warm - Ashley L

At McGovern Subaru of Acton, being part of our community means more than just selling cars, it's about making a difference. 💙 With the incredible support of Operation Warm and Acton‑Boxborough Community Compass, the staff of McGovern Subaru of Acton and the dedicated Community Compass volunteers had the heartwarming opportunity to support over 120 children and families. Together, we helped kids try on brand‑new shoes and socks, while enjoying delicious Domino's pizza, snacks, and drinks. 👟🍕 When we ran out of certain shoe sizes, Community Compass stepped in, pulling additional pairs from their storage to ensure every child was cared for. Teamwork truly made this event a success, because every child deserves to step into their next adventure with confidence. ✨ The evening was filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful connections from snacks and juice boxes to face painting and shared moments that made the night unforgettable. 🎨😊 Seeing the joy on the kids' faces as they found shoes in their favorite colors is a feeling words can't fully capture. 💖 We're already looking forward to next year!

Meet Patrick Coyne: A Story of Strength, Resilience, and the Power of Community - Ashley L

At McGovern Subaru of Acton, we believe in showing up for one another, not just in the workplace but in life. For us, being part of a team means standing together through the good times and the hard ones. And no one exemplifies that spirit more than Patrick Coyne. Pat has been a dedicated technician at McGovern Subaru for over three and a half years. Known for his talent, work ethic, and steady presence, he was named Employee of the Quarter in January 2025. Unfortunately, he never had the chance to enjoy the recognition. Behind the scenes, Pat was quietly fighting through something none of us could have expected. In December 2024, Pat began experiencing alarming pain in his chest and arms. He powered through it for weeks—like many of us do, hoping it would pass. But on December 19th, after the pain became unbearable, he finally sought medical attention. It was the first time Pat had been to the doctor since he was a child. Initially, the tests came back clear, and he was sent home. After Christmas, however, the pain returned, more intense than before. He was diagnosed with myocarditis and placed on medication. But by Friday, January 3rd, the pain had escalated into something excruciating. Thinking it was still myocarditis, doctors prescribed high-dose steroids and scheduled a follow-up. That follow-up came sooner than expected. On Monday, January 7th, Pat rushed back to the cardiologist in unbearable pain. What they found was terrifying: a blood clot had formed near a major artery, blocking 70% of his heart function. He was rushed into emergency surgery, a move that ultimately saved his life. Pat remained hospitalized for nearly a week while his wife Meagan cared for their 9-year-old son, balancing uncertainty with strength no family should have to summon alone. As if that weren’t enough, just as Pat was beginning to recover at home, tragedy struck again. On the night of February 28th, 2025, Pat and Meagan were in bed trying to get some much-needed rest. Their son had joined them after a nightmare. Around 11:40 p.m., Pat heard what sounded like furniture being moved upstairs, followed by the unmistakable scent of smoke and sizzling in the walls. He jumped into action, waking his family and getting everyone out of the house safely. Meagan called 911 while smoke poured out of their home. because of the location of their home and where it sits on city limits, within 15 minutes, eight fire trucks arrived. Pat, a man who had poured so much of himself into his family and home—including hand-building their bed and dining table—watched it all go up in flames. They lost nearly everything. But they didn’t lose each other. “That’s what matters most,” Pat said later. “Things can be replaced. My family can’t.” With their home temporarily uninhabitable, Pat and his family are stayed with friends while the insurance company worked through the process. Thankfully, their adjuster assured them the house would be covered, and construction began soon after. Pat remains grateful for the incredible contractors who have worked tirelessly to rebuild a safe and beautiful space for his family. If all goes well, they’ll be back home by August 2025. Through all of this, Pat remained humble. When our General Manager, Troy Ward, reached out to ask what he and his family needed, Pat’s response was simple: “We’re okay. We’re managing.” But that’s not how we do things at McGovern. When Troy shared Pat’s story with our owner, Matt McGovern, there was no hesitation. Matt personally donated $10,000 to Pat and his family to help cover anything insurance didn’t. It was one less thing for Pat and his family to worry about and one more reminder that here, people matter more than anything else. We’re thrilled to say that Pat is back at work. He’s doing what he loves, surrounded by a team that cares about him deeply. His story is one of perseverance, courage, and the incredible strength of family both at home and at work. At McGovern Subaru of Acton, we don’t just build careers. We build community. And we’re proud to walk beside our people through every chapter of life. Welcome back, Pat. We’re better with you here.

Worthington Family - Ashley L

Life can change in an instant, and our hearts go out to the Worthington family during this incredibly difficult time. This past October, Hayden and Grayson tragically lost their father in a motorcycle accident. Both children have been active members of the Boys & Girls Club for years, participating in programs, sports, and special events that have shaped their childhood. Their mother, Kristal, is now navigating life as a single parent while working full-time in Maynard. With no immediate family nearby, she leans on the Club for support and childcare, ensuring her children stay engaged in a positive environment. When we at McGovern Subaru of Acton heard their story, we knew we had to step in. We are honored to cover the cost of Hayden and Grayson’s Boys & Girls Club summer program, helping to ease even a small part of Kristal’s burden. At McGovern Subaru, we believe in the power of community and standing by our neighbors when they need us most. While nothing can replace the loss of a loving husband and father, we can come together to show this family they are not alone. If you’d like to support the Worthington family, please reach out to the Boys & Girls Club to learn how you can help. Let’s lift each other up—because community means everything. ❤️
